Mark J. Wade, MD
Wade Healthcare Systems, Inc. (WHS) is a physician owned and operated healthcare management and Consultation Company. In 1996, WHS was founded by Mark J. Wade, M.D. after more than 13 years of healthcare leadership and management service to inner
city healthcare institutions. WHS’ philosophy is that quality comprehensive healthcare can be delivered to every segment of our population in a cost-effective manner, regardless of the economic or health status of the target group. With a particular commitment to and expertise in urban healthcare, WHS’ goal is to improve the overall health status of urban communities and decrease healthcare disparities through education, comprehensive primary care delivery, and systems enhancement of agencies and organizations charged with serving these communities.

To accomplish its goals, WHS’ senior management team consists of experts experienced in urban health management and delivery. WHS offers a unique level of expertise in urban health, especially those issues documented to be most devastating to inner city populations (i.e., chronic medical diseases, adolescent health issues, dental disease, and substance abuse). In addition, WHS’ senior staff’s established record of service for and with federal, state and local public health and human service agencies affords this team
an experience based working knowledge of organizational and operational issues.

Over the past 9 years, WHS has established a number of healthcare contracts including a pediatric primary care delivery contract with New York City’s foster care agencies and a contract to provide Medical Issues Training Services to social service, legal and medical
personnel in the New York child welfare systems. We have also established healthcare management consultative contracts with New York and New Jersey healthcare providers.

Dr. Mayra Suero-Wade D.D.S., M.P.H.
began her college experience at New York University studying fashion and design. During her sophomore year she heard one of the university Dean speak about his career in dentistry and the importance of choosing a career that brings more than monetary value to one’s life. Dr. Suero-Wade changed her major and charted a new direction.

After receiving a bachelor’s degree from NYU Dr. Suero-Wade completed her dental training at the Columbia University School of Dental and Oral Surgery and also earned a master’s degree in public health. She established a private practice in Harlem, treating
thousands of patients annually. Twelve years ago Dr. Suero-Wade developed an innovative mobile dental program called Dentistry in Motion to make dental care accessible to people who did not have the fund to attain it. She purchased portable dental equipment and began her mobile dental program.

In 1990, Dr. Suero-Wade accepted the challenge of helping a New York foster care agency with the dental care of 500 children. She offered the agency a tremendous savings and twelve years later her fee has not increased. Dr. Suero-Wade has established contracts with give agencies that have sites in New York City including the Department of Juvenile Justice where her husband provides pediatric
health care. She has a staff of five dentists and four dental assistants who are trained to understand the special needs of the children.
In addition to her dental career in New York Dr. Suero-Wade travels to third-world countries providing free dental care through the Arise and Walk Ministries Foundation she established with her husband. She also writes an oral health column.

Dentistry in Motion has become so successful that Dr. Suero-Wade has given up her private practice to dedicate herself fully to the care of those who need it most. Felician College has honored her for her work by conferring the degree of Doctor of Humane Letters.

Dr. Suero-Wade had the courage to take on challenges that make a difference for those most in need. She says that the most rewarding experience is providing the kind of love and care children need to overcome the immense fear and pain that is associated with dental neglect and that happy smiles and warm hugs are the greatest gifts of all.

Dr. Suero-Wade and her husband Mark Wade, M.D., have three children: Mark, Jr., Christopher and Amber. The Wade family resides in Saddle River, New Jersey.
