Arise & Walk Presents 1st Annual Walk/Run!

Arise and Walk Ministries Foundation, Inc. invites you to join us in our 1st Annual Walk/Run Event to raise funds to support medical missions in Africa, Haiti, and other Third World countries. Over the past seven years, Arise and Walk has received support through the generosity of partners, friends, family and the Annual Thanksgiving Benefit Awards Gala.

We have provided medical care to over 50,000 people in Africa, donated a medical van to a Haitian Clinic, assisted in over 45 medical missions overseas, provided medical relief to Hurricane Katrina victims in Louisiana, and medical relief to tsunami victims in South East Asia.  In 2007, we aim to participate and assist in nine missions trips and we want to provide medical, dental and hospital supplies. With your help we can expand and continue this life-saving work.  

On Saturday, May 19th between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., AWMF will host its First Annual Walk/Run Event in Votee Park, Teaneck, NJ.  You can participate by raising at least $10.00 for registration to receive your registration badge, lunch, and water bottles.  Prizes will be given to the person who brings in the most friends and who raises the most funds. for Arise & Walk

Dear Partners:

It is with expectancy of MORE good things to happen in 2007 that we send this letter to you! Mayra and I have completed our contract with the New York City Department of Juvenile Justice . With this contract finally finished, we now have time to focus wholly on AWMF activities. For starters, we plan to go on and/or support at least ten international mission trips with American based churches and/or ministries. We will again select and provide financial awards to three ministries during AWMF's 2007 Thanksgiving Benefit Awards Gala. In addition, we plan to support several churches and pastors with activities here in America , as well as ministries that God puts on our heart whose international missionary work would benefit from AWMF's support. We are still looking for office space to house AWMF. If you can help us with finding an affordable small building or “home" for the AWMF office, please call us at the number above. And finally, once again, we plan to host “God's Party”; the Arise and Walk Ministries Foundation Awards Dinner on Friday, November 16 th , 2007 at the Marriott Glenpointe Hotel in Teaneck, NJ. We hope to see you there!

AWMF Supports Students in Missions Work

Felistar Murakaru and her best friend Karil Greaves, both received the “Missions Award Scholarship” presented by the Arise and Walk Ministries Foundation for their work in Kenya, Africa ministering to women in crisis. While students of Nyack College-Alliance Theological Seminary, they went to Kenya to intern for the Social Department for Youth and Christ from December 2003 to July 2004. Arise and Walk Ministries Foundation awarded each student a check for $1,500 for their missions outreach efforts. Felistar and Karil both successfully graduated this past May with a Masters of Divinity Degree in Christian Ministry. A big congratulations from all of us!

The Spirit of Life Brings Life to the Philippines

The Spirit Of Life Fellowship (SOLF) is a local Bronx, NY non-denominational church with a vision of local and global evangelism, discipleship training (includes leadership development and empowerment) and international missions outreach to indigenous peoples. Bishop Dr. Valli Y. Walton serves as Senior Pastor & Chief Presiding International Prelate. June 2-10, 2005 the SOLF Mission Team (Bishop Dr. Valli Y. Walton, Rev. Leonie E. Douglas and Evangelist Joanna D. Bennett, R.N.) traveled to Manila, Dipolog City and Cagayan de Oro City to preach and teach the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.

They gave clothing to children in need at an orphanage and also distributed vitamins, over-the-counter medicines and first aid items to those in need. Bibles and Christian literature (books) were given to several pastors and gifts of benevolence to the poor. At the Annual SOLF Leadership Development & Empowerment Conference, 18 new ministers (16 Pastors and two Evangelists) were ordained to continue the work in the Philippines and two Bishops (Antonio Decena and Alejandro Lapiz) were consecrated under the SOLF umbrella as Regional Presiding Elders for the SOLF ministry.
